Position Overview:

Responsible for medical plan product premium billing. Interacts with customers gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and works through specific billing discrepancies. Provides input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function. Educates customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications. Monitors outstanding balances and takes appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billed. Prepares invoices and completes reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables. Performs quality assurance and audit of billing activities.

 

Job Description:

This is a work from home position within the Sutter footprint.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

1 year recent relevant experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of health care operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of information system applications in a health insurance or health care environment.

Organization skills; ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment, and deliver quality service.

Knowledge of health insurance concepts related to enrollment and premium billing practices.

Must have knowledge of database management and data accuracy verification techniques.

 

Knowledge of health insurance concepts related to premium billing, reconciliation and broker commissions.

Must possess some familiarity and understanding of DMHC regulations, various health care reimbursement models, pricing mechanisms, managed care and payer relationships.

Required skills include ability to build collaborative working relationships with diverse individuals and organizations; analytical and problem solving skills; ability to operate independently and confidentially.

Proficiency in MS/Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)

 

Pay Range: $25.35 – $36.76 / hr
